Compress and Resize Images
Use this when a photo is too big for an upload limit, an email attachment or a web page. You can lower the quality, reduce the dimensions, or both, and see the before and after sizes right away.
All processing happens in your browser; your photos are never sent to a server.
Your files and text are processed only in this browser. Nothing is uploaded or stored on a server.
How to use
- Add up to 20 JPG, PNG or WebP images (25 MB each).
- Choose the output format: keep original, JPEG, WebP or PNG.
- Set the quality and, if needed, resize by percent or to a maximum width and height.
- Compare sizes and download each image or a ZIP of all of them.
Features and limits
- The quality slider applies to JPEG and WebP. PNG is lossless, so only resizing makes it smaller.
- "Fit within max width/height" keeps the aspect ratio and never enlarges an image that is already smaller.
- When saving as JPEG, transparent areas are filled with white.
- EXIF metadata such as camera details and location is removed, while the photo's orientation is preserved.
FAQ
Why doesn't lowering quality shrink my PNG?
PNG is a lossless format with no quality setting. Resize the image or switch the output to JPEG or WebP to make it smaller.
How do I get a photo under 1 MB?
Start by limiting the longest side to around 2000 px and setting quality to 70–80. The new size is shown immediately, so adjust until it fits.
Will my photos end up rotated after removing EXIF?
No. The orientation is applied to the pixels before saving, so photos keep the right way up even without metadata.
What happens to transparent backgrounds?
JPEG doesn't support transparency, so those areas become white. Choose PNG or WebP to keep them transparent.
