Convert JSON to CSV
Got an API response you need in a spreadsheet? Paste it here and each object becomes a row, with one column per key. Objects don't need identical keys; missing values are left empty.
The conversion runs locally in your browser and your data is not uploaded.
Your files and text are processed only in this browser. Nothing is uploaded or stored on a server.
How to use
- Paste JSON or open a file (up to 20 MB).
- Choose whether to flatten nested objects into separate columns.
- Pick a delimiter and decide whether to add a UTF-8 BOM for Excel.
- Check the preview, then download the CSV.
Features and limits
- For an array of objects, columns are the union of all keys, in the order they first appear.
- Also accepted: a single object, an array of arrays, or an array of plain values.
- With flattening on, {"address": {"city": ...}} becomes an address.city column. Arrays inside objects are written into the cell as JSON text.
- The BOM option helps Excel read UTF-8 text such as accented or non-Latin characters correctly.
FAQ
How are nested JSON objects converted to CSV?
With flattening enabled, nested keys are joined with dots, so user.name and user.email become their own columns. Arrays can't map to a flat row, so they are kept as JSON text inside a single cell.
What happens if my objects have different keys?
Every key found in any object becomes a column. Rows that don't have a given key simply get an empty cell.
Can I convert JSON to CSV for Excel?
Yes. Download with the BOM option on and Excel will open the file with the correct encoding.
My JSON won't convert. What's wrong?
The input is probably not valid JSON. Run it through the JSON Formatter to see the exact line and cause of the error.
